You’ll Need:
- Marijuana flower
- Grinder
- Rolling paper (tobacco is best)
- Lighter
- Rolling tray (optional)
Step 1 – Grind your weed
Get out your favourite weed grinder and start milling the flower. While you could use your fingers to break it up, a grinder will make sure it’s finely cut. This means it’s the perfect consistency for an efficient burn.
Step 2 – Prep the paper
Now it’s time to prep the rolling paper, or cigar paper if you’re using that. Prepping consists of two things – “cracking” the paper if you’re using cigar paper, as well as wetting the paper (we’ll get into that in the next step).
If you’re using a cigar or cigarillo, use a knife and cut down the centre lengthways. Remove any contents and throw them away or save for a spliff.
Step 3 – Dampen, don’t soak

Remember that this step is about sealing it, not setting it alight. Avoid this by keeping the flame at a fair distance from the paper, so that it doesn’t catch on fire.

- If you don’t have rolling paper like tobacco paper, you can empty out a cigar and use its wrapping. Make sure you use a sharp blade to cut open a cigar, as you run the risk of ripping the paper if you use fingers..
